The Gospel of mercy
According to the New Testament, there are four gospels were written. The writings of these gospels were attributed to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Each of these Gospels has different characteristics in terms of its literary aspect. When Luke have called the Gospel of Mercy.
Physician and was fond of literature of that era, especially that of the Greeks. He lived in the second half of the century and composed his work between 80 and 90 AD His work is addressed to a friend named Theophilus, which means friend of God, and ignored if it is a real character, a symbolic name or an alias. Not physically met Jesus Christ and it was not an eyewitness of the facts, even as there were other gospels, like Marcos, which bases its literary structure and its efforts to obtain information as to at that time, which was passed on the oral eyewitnesses. Lucas met after the mother of Jesus and she is one of those people who tells in detail some of these stories, as your pregnancy and your cousin Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist and I find that both had before birth their children, a fact that none of the other three Gospels and that Luke does transfer because it tells Maria, including early childhood of Jesus Christ.
Lc. 1, 39-42 A few days later Maria got up and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea. Upon arrival, entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. As soon as Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the babe leaped in her womb. Then Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, said, Blessed are you among women and blessed is the child to give birth!
Luke shares with Matthew and Mark many details of the life of Jesus, but also presents other that give to his gospel a touch of originality. Written with great ease, the Gospel of Luke is a structured and orderly work in which they appear clearly the various stages of Jesus' ministry. Some experts call this Gospel as the Gospel of Mercy. The so called because the news of salvation is offered to all who wish to accept. Lucas directed this gospel to the second generation of Christians and confused I was immersed in both cultural and political contexts of the Roman Empire and the Jewish Christians of that era. Lucas tries to bring back these people and start telling stories related to the life of Jesus. His work consists of two volumes. The Gospel of Luke and Acts. From the perspective of Luke tells the story of the Old Testament, which was a true connoisseur, not just a succession of events, but the space where the plan of God. The plan is to save men.
Lc. 2, 11 Today I was born in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Lucas tries to tell the key moments in the life of Jesus and makes the universal view of divine salvation and emphasizes that God's salvation is in Jesus and not in Rome. Luke mentions that the time of the church begins when Jesus disappears from history and is ascended into heaven, it is then that offers salvation to all men. As in all the Gospels, Jesus is the center of attention. Is manifested in the salvation of God plainly and Luke in his gospel says that Jesus is the Messiah, that Jesus is the Son of God, that Jesus is the prophet, but above all, that Jesus is El Salvador. Particularly in this gospel are some teachings of Jesus. The most notable are the example of the loving father in the prodigal son, or a compassionate stranger in the parable of the Good Samaritan. Luke is interested in pointing out that God loves people of other nations, and foreigners often are most grateful. An interesting detail in the Gospel of Luke, largely devoted to discuss the journey of Jesus to Jerusalem.
Luke in his Gospel refers to those who wish to participate in salvation must become disciples of Jesus. The conversion of Peter is a good example to start discipleship. But it also says that we must recognize sin and renounce the goods of this world that are a major obstacle to following Jesus. Through his Gospel parables know, the son of the widow of Nain. The prodigal son. The disciples of Emmaus. Lazarus and the rich man, all of them invaluable spiritual wealth. The transcendental in his gospel, is the step that gives a world to another world. On the one hand the end of his gospel that recounts Jesus' ascension into heaven, and on the other the beginning of the book of Acts begins when Jesus ascended into heaven and the beginning of his disciples in what the great commission of Christ proclaiming the gospel to all nations. Luke was a friend and disciple of Paul and Peter and one of the objectives of this gospel, it would demonstrate to the Roman authorities that neither Jesus nor his followers were a threat to the Roman Empire.
Do you think he has?. In these times, Jesus remains a threat to the world.
I invite you to read not only the gospel, but the remaining three and you can enjoy the richness of the most striking expressions of the characters of our history, Jesus Christ.
Lc. 10, 30-37 The Good Samaritan, a man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves. They took his clothes, beat him and left, leaving him half dead. Happened to be going the same way a priest who saw him, he passed by in length. This also came to the place a Levite, and seeing him, swerved and kept going. But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man and saw it, took pity on him. He went to him healed wounds with wine and oil, and sell them. Then he put on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. Cuídemelo 'he said and what you spend more, they will repay you when I return. Which of these three do you think was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves? The one who took pity on him, replied the Pharisee. Go and do likewise, found Jesus.
