One Percenters
Hells Angels Inc is the most successful company of its kind in Canada.
In 2000 he moved to Ontario in force and absorbed or eliminated much of the competition. They recruited a lot of new members, including 200 members of rival gangs such as Lobos and choice of Satan.
Prior to 2000, Quebec was the stronghold of the Angel, but a prolonged war turf with rival biker gang the Rock Machine has killed 150 people. The biker war has attracted national attention when 11 years old, Daniel Desrochers was killed. It was in the wrong place when a car bomb exploded outside a biker clubhouse. It 'was the killing of Daniel and the chaos that preceded it that drove the creation of Bill C-95 that allows harsher penalties if the offender can be shown to be a member of a criminal organization established.
Despite the attentions of the police, the Angels have continued to grow and are now the number one country from coast to coast - overshadowed the Mafia and Asian gangs who tend to have a more localized.
The Angels are well established in BC where there is a very lucrative trade of marijuana. One of the reasons that have the edge in BC is due to the extensive connections that keep the ports. The port traffic is the main artery of the drug trade, and is the site chosen because by the admission of Canadian authorities only about 3% of the goods is actually extracted. A report by the Auditor General says that up to 4,000 people with connections to bike gangs are used in ports and airports of Canada.
Big Red Machine has surprised the police and journalists who have covered their activities over the years, showing initiative, the depth of organizational skills and a willingness to face competition when moving into new turf.
There are now more than 30 Hells Angel chapters across Canada.
There have been tensions with the Bandidos in Ontario. The Bandidos have been backed up and severely weakened in Ontario as the Angels become the dominant players. These tensions burst into the open recently in a strip bar in Vaughan, when Angel sergeant-at-arms, David "White Dread" Buchanan, was killed by Bandido, Francesco Lenti. Two members of Buchanan were injured in the shooting.
Some versions Angelo contesting the claim that Lenti is a Bandido, but there are good reasons to believe that he had strong ties with the banda.
